Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre (Melbourne) – The word Bunjilaka is a word created from two local Aborginal languages and means “creation place”. It is a place where Victoria’s indigenous communities can express their own history within the Melbourne Museum. It’s also a place where you can understand the aboriginal history of belonging to the land on the Yarra River, populated by the Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung people before the first Europeans arrived.
Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne – The award-winning walk through the Gardens is often described as one of the most interesting walks in the city. A local Aboriginal guide takes you on a journey through the traditional camping and meeting place the for Kulin nation. You’ll experience stories, culture, plant lore, tools and ceremony.

We had a fantastic experience. Knowing it may be our one and only chance to see down under, we squeezed in as much as possible in 2 weeks. We went to Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland (Tasmania) and New Zealand. The flights, tours and all airport/hotel connections all went off without a hitch. Great Trip
Everything was as good or better than we expected. Sydney was great. Melbourne was very good. The events all worked out well and were better then expected.The return flight was terrible, since it was badly planned by you or Qantas, who ever planned the connection. A good trip
Our flight to LAX was delayed due to weather connections (our booking), and therefore missed our flight to Melbourne. Overall, our trip was wonderful. Unfortunately, they had to change agents in the middle of planning so we lost some continuity. Majority of accommodations were great. Tours selected wonderful. My only recommendation for those using About Australia, thoroughly check and read all final documents including seat assignments on airlines.

Amazing down under experiences
After the initial scare of missing our connection in Dallas, because our Denver to Dallas plane was running late, we were rebooked by American Airlines via Los Angeles. Everything went well from transfers to tours. We had a 4 hour hiccup with the first flight, but United and Qantas redirected us. We had an extra flight but missed only a few hours of our time on Gold Coast. Tours were a nice addition to the base tour. Wished we had more time in Sydney, but we plan to go back.

What an amazing experience. The accommodations and extra excursions we did were wonderful. Airline schedule, visas, hotel accommodations, tours were all excellent. The hotels chosen in Sydney, Melbourne, and Port Douglas were excellent both in terms of the venue and the locations in each city. Outstanding trip—and so affordable!
Great flights on Qantas, excellent room accommodations (awesome view from Short Stay apartment in Melbourne), loved being up-close with koalas, kangaroos, wallabies , and adorable fairy penguins. Our guides, Monique and Yasmin, were lovely, and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, was amazing! Australia should be on everyone’s bucket list!

Great Knowledge and Execution Made for a Great trip
My husband and I heartily recommend About Australia. Although I had done a great deal of research myself, it was wonderful to have these pros take over the details of day trips, accommodations, flights, transfers, and car rental. The paper work including what to do pre trip was great, Australia is a long way so Ana extended my return an extra 10 days so I could have more time with son and visit Tasmania. For my return next year I plan on using their services .

Meet Arthur.
The Healesville Sanctuary in Australia received this adorable baby koala, a lucky little joey, very dehydrated and limping after being hit by a car; it was later found that Arthur had a broken femur and arm. The veterinarians of the non-profit organization spent hours repairing his fragile, broken femur. He is said to be healing well, being spoiled with his favorite foods, and has been paired with a teddy bear to comfort him and give him security. Arthur, the cute & cuddly koala, is expected to make a full recovery and return to climbing trees in no time!
Join Healesville Sanctuary in an effort to combat wildlife extinction and donate, or adopt an animal, so they can continue to perform heartwarming miracles, like this one, on more of these special critters.

The King of Rock and Roll, the one and only Elvis Presley, is turning 80 on January 8th, and the Parkes Elvis Festival will be bigger than ever! Every year thousands of fans gather in Parkes to celebrate the life and music of Elvis Presley and to experience all the fun activities and events dedicated to the King. During the festival, there will be over 150 unique events including a Miss Priscilla look-a-like Competition, Elvis Street Parade, Cars of the Era show, Elvis Presley Look-a-like Contests, Tribute to Elvis competition, a Renewal of Vows Ceremony, and much more!
The annual festival is held in Parkes (aka the Elvis capital of Australia), a charming town located approximately 365 kilometers west of Sydney. Festival events are from Wednesday to Sunday and include non-stop entertainment. Over the last 20 years this event has grown from a one-night event for only a few hundred people to a five-day extravaganza with thousands of participants, and this year promises to be the best festival yet.
