Description: Take an early start from Hobart and head to the stunning Tasman Peninsula, home to Australia’s highest sea cliffs. Enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout, and along the short but spectacular Waterfall Bay Clifftop Track. This is one of Tasmania’s “Great Short Walks”, around 45 minutes, concluding at the remarkable rock formations of Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen.

Next stop is the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo. Arrive here for the action of a Tasmanian Devil Feeding. Watch the snarling, fighting and bone crushing in a spectacle of devilish behavior during the feeding. Hand feed the wallabies and walk amongst the local fauna and flora in the charming “Unzoo” setting. Just a short drive down the road, enter the Port Arthur Historic Site. Here you have around 2.5 hours to explore the site. Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a guided walking tour with Port Arthur’s expert guides. Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this “inescapable prison”.

On your return to Hobart, you’ll stop at Federation Chocolate with a variety of chocolate flavors to sample. In the late afternoon, you’ll visit historic Richmond Village. Meander the streets, stop for a coffee and walk across Australia’s oldest bridge still in use – a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted! Last but not least, you’ll stop for a fabulous view across Hobart from a local lookout. A picturesque way to return to the city. You will be dropped off at your Hobart accommodation.

Day 2: Wineglass Bay & Freycinet National Park

Description: Depart Hobart heading east then following the coastline north. You will travel through the seaside towns of Orford and Swansea as you make your way to Freycinet National Park. Freycinet is one of Tasmania’s first National Parks, famous for its rich and stunning coastal landscapes. Pink Granite Mountains form the backdrop for secluded bays, pristine waters, white sandy beaches, local wildlife and amazing walking trails.

As you enter the Freycinet area you’ll have a brief stop at the Freycinet Marine Farm for anyone interested in the local oysters fresh from the surrounding pristine waters. You’ll walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout where your guide will help you take those sought-after photographs and offer you some walking options for the day. This walk takes around 1.5 hours, is graded as an easy, but uphill walk. If you are a keen walker, you can continue the walk down to Wineglass beach (2.5 hr return walking time). You’ll have time on this famous beach to take a swim, relax, eat your lunch or meander along the white sands.

If you prefer to select the shorter walking option, you can explore other areas of Freycinet with your tour guide. Visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, & Cape Tourville Lighthouse. You’ll re-group ready for the return journey to Launceston. Still on the East Coast you’ll make a final stop at the Devils Corner Winery. This new attraction on the East Coast has amazing views, gelato, fresh seafood including oysters, and of course wine tasting.

Day 3: Cradle Mountain World Heritage Area

Description: Cradle Mountain National Park is an area of iconic scenery with a huge variety of walking trails to choose from in this stunning world heritage listed area. With around 5 hours to spend in the National Park the tours offers a flexible walking itinerary to suit your needs and the weather conditions on the day.

After departing Launceston, enjoy a short stop in Sheffield – The Town of Murals. Sheffield is a small and quirky village where the history of the Cradle Mountain region is depicted in artworks across the buildings throughout the town, this includes the opportunity to see the famous Eason’s Mural.

Continue your journey into the mountains and arrive at Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake with around 5 hours of possible walking time. Begin with a series of short walks to Rainforest City and Pencil Pine Falls. From here you can choose from the gentle and iconic Dove Lake Circuit an easy 2 hour walk with amazing mountain views. The more active, have the chance to climb to the loftier heights of Marion’s Lookout. This walk is rewarded with amazing 360 degree views of the surrounding World Heritage wilderness area.

Enjoy lunch by a quiet stream, watch the famous and friendly Cradle wombats in their natural habitat, or enjoy the many photographic opportunities that abound. Learn some of the local history while you visit Weindorfer’s Chalet and see the ancient King Billy Pines on Weindorfer’s Forest Walk. Cradle Mountain is the backdrop for a truly memorable and not to be missed Tasmanian experience. On return to Launceston, you’ll stop and sample some local tasty products at the award winning Ashgrove Cheese Factory.

Upon departing from the city, you will travel directly to the Blue Mountains and your first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill Farm a working farm also home to Kangaroo, Emu, Wombat and Koala. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at leisure.

From Calmsley Hill you will continue to ascend the Blue Mountains via the highway. Visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Continuing on you will arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout points away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colors. The afternoon is spent visiting a selection of lookouts. Once you clap your eyes on the view from Govetts Leap you’ll know why it’s one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. If you’re not mesmerized by the dancing waves of water spray, you’ll be transfixed by the sweeping views down the valley to the Grose Wilderness.

Need to Know
Must be at least 12 years old to participate. Please bring swimwear, a hat, easy slip on shoes, sunscreen, and cash for souvenirs. For guests over the age of 65, a dive medical is requested. Certified divers with medical conditions may need to provide a dive medical as well. This experience can be catered to your dietary needs. Please advise of any special dietary requirements when completing your Traveler Information Form.

The Cairns Wildlife Dome is a spectacular all-weather wildlife exhibit, encased by a 20-meter-high glass dome right in the heart of Cairns. You’ll be immersed in a rainforest environment whilst parrots, cockatoos, lorikeets, and other birds native to the Wet Tropics region fly freely around, with the opportunity to observe free-roaming rainforest wallabies and view bettongs, curlews, frogmouths, kookaburras, frogs, turtles, pythons, crocodiles and lizards.

Enjoy included guided tours, daily interactive animal presentations, and great photo opportunities. You’ll have a blast as you watch the afternoon feedings, get up close with a crocodile, watch the free flying birds, cuddle with furry friends and watch the nocturnal creatures awaken. Don’t miss out on taking your photo with a koala (own expense)! If you do, “No worries!” – your ticket is good for re-entry for up to 4 additional days.

Minimum age for any ZOOM activity is 6 years. Height & Weight Restrictions apply to ZOOM Activities (not included). Pre-existing medical conditions: It is your responsibility to assess whether you are fit enough to take part in ZOOM activities. A waiver will be required. Pregnant women ineligible to participate in ZOOM activities. Skirts and dresses not allowed. Enclosed footwear with good grip recommended – no sandals. Long hair must be tied back.

Please wear tropical cocktail attire, light jacket, and suitable boating shoes. Please bring your credit/debit card as the Spirit of Cairns is cashless. The dinner is a buffet style meal and it may not always be possible to change a particular menu item to suit special requirements. Menu items are labelled to indicate vegetarian, diary free and gluten free (and a complete list of ingredients can be provided on request). However, while all care is taken, it must be noted that within the premises they do handle nuts, seafood, shellfish, sesame seeds, wheat flour, eggs and dairy products and can not guarantee that certain products or ingredients will not be in the food, and explicitly accept no liability in this regard.
