This day trip takes you on the Tahune Forest Airwalk – a cantilevered bridge that allows you to walk through the treetops 130 feet (40 meters )above the ground – then on to the Hasting Caves for a swim in the thermal pools and a spectacular underground cave walk.
Your first major adventure for the day is to explore the Tahune Forest Airwalk. Head up the short hill to begin our walk along the Cantilever. It stretches a third of a mile (597 meters) through the treetops. Enjoy the sensation of being suspended above the Huon River with breathtaking views across the treetops and surrounding mountains. You’ll have some time to explore and enjoy nature. Bring your swim gear and jump into the Thermal Springs swimming pool where the water is always 79 degrees (28 degrees Celsius). Or just relax in the beautiful forest surrounds, wander along the Hot Springs Nature Trail where the warm water meets the cool water , and also home to the unique & playful Platypus, keep your eye out for this elusive local.
The Cave Tour is conducted by the National Parks expert guides. Cave temperature is always 9 degrees so bring your jacket along for this one. We head underground to explore this spectacular cave which is Australia’s largest tourist Dolomite Cave.
On return to Hobart there is opportunity to stop at the many roadside stalls and collect some delicious local produce such as Cherries, Berries, Apples, Ice-creams and also a stop for a honey tasting along the way. The Queen Victoria Market is an historic Melbourne landmark and a Melbourne institution dating back to more than 120 years ago.
Queen Victoria Market hasn’t been just a market. At different times in the past it has been a cemetery, a livestock market and a place to sell fruit and veggies (vegetables) wholesale. It is said to be the southern hemisphere’s largest open-air market offering a variety of fresh farm produce and, on Sundays, a wider range of merchant items which turn the market into a modern Arabian Nights bazaar. This is the place to buy your souvenirs.
Aside from the variety of wares offered at the Queen Victoria Market, buskers and street entertainment are a market feature, particularly on Sundays when Queen St is closed and becomes a place of cafes, carnival rides and other activities. And there’s always the sound of spruikers cajoling visitors into buying their goods, and you can haggle for the best prices you’re able to get.
The Queen Victoria Market trading hours are 6am to 2pm on Tuesday and Thursday; 6am to 6pm (with the general merchandise section closing at 4pm) on Friday; 6am to 3pm on Saturday; and 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
The market is closed on Monday and Wednesday, and on Good Friday, Anzac Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. (Please double check times before you go.)

From there travel to Phillip Island where you see the Nobbies, and Seal Rocks before travelling on to Summerland beach for the nightly penguin parade. Home to Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins, Summerland beach provides a spectacular backdrop to the world famous penguin parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and go home for the night. Come and enjoy the beauty and native wildlife and make this a journey to remember. Tour conclusion depends on time of year and ranges from 10pm during the winter months to midnight during summer as the penguins arrive at sunset.

Perth Western Australia is home to many popular beaches, including, Cottesloe, Swanbourne, and Scarborough. Cottlesloe is a great beach for families, with quaint shops and cafes within easy reach. Swanbourne is an excellent place for surfing and body boarding, with some of the best waves along the Perth Western Australia coast. Travelers from out of town should note, however, that Swanbourne is also a nude beach, and beach patrons are expected to go without clothing. Scarborough beach provides a more traditional family experience. Life savers patrol the beach during the day, and the absence of rock and coral reef make this an excellent beach for small children.
