Visit South Australia on this amazing trip! You’ll start your Australian Adventure in South Australia, landing in Adelaide, a city of great visual harmony and classical elegant style. It’s superbly set by the River Torrens between Adelaide Hills and the waters of Gulf St. Vincent. Your hotel is located in the heart of Adelaide, walking distance to Rundle Mall, the Adelaide Oval and Casino. You’ll spend 2 nights in Adelaide. Explore the city, visit the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, check out the Adelaide Central Market or use your rental car to venture out into the surrounding wine country.
On day four. drive from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island. Maybe stop by Aldinga Beach on the way; drive on the sand and do some snorkeling. You’ll arrive at your Kangaroo Island resort with plenty of time to wander the gardens and look for the friendly penguins that waddle up from the beach. The Kangaroo Island vacation accommodation is a stylish and very welcoming property. It is the perfect base for you to enjoy all the natural beauty that Kangaroo Island has to offer. Organize adventures with the friendly and professional staff who know and love the island. Choose from activities like deep sea fishing, 4WD wilderness tour, horse riding, walking tours, food tours, swimming, snorkeling, diving or climbing. Everything the Island has to offer is just a short drive away.
On day six, start your drive on the Great Ocean Road as you make your way to Victor Harbour. In Victor Harbour you can experience coastal wildlife, sea views, relaxing strolls and adventure. When entering Victor Harbour be sure to look for the Bluff summit. After staying the night in Victor Harbour, continue your self drive to Mount Gambier.
Consider stopping at the Naracoorte Caves National Park- a site that preserves Australia’s most complete fossil record for the past 500,000 years. There are about 26 caves at Naracoorte Caves National Park, though not all are open to the public. The most common mammals you will see are western grey kangaroos, but echidnas, wombats and sugar gliders also live here. Your vacation accommodation in Mt. Gambier is located on the slopes of an extinct volcano, covered with craters. One of the craters is home to a lake for water skiing, picnicking and wildlife walks. If you are a diver, take the opportunity to dive Engelbrecht Cave – one of the many caves beneath the streets of Mt. Gambier but the only one accessible by divers.
From Mount Gambier you will head southeast toward Portland. You may want to stop at the picturesque Lower Glenelg National Park. Along the last part of its winding 400 kilometre path to the sea the river has carved a spectacular gorge up to 50 metres deep through limestone. In Port Campbell, view the famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard. Stop in Port Campbell for refreshments and continue to the remnants of London Bridge. Your scenic and enjoyable drive will end for the day in Apollo Bay. Stay in the picturesque green foothills of the Otway Ranges – Apollo Bay. Visit gorgeous valleys, just a few miles out of town, full of rainforests, waterfalls, streams and fireflies or take a spectacular bush walk. Participate in every water sport imaginable from surfing to fishing to diving or just lounging on the beach. End your Great Ocean Road trip in Melbourne.
Your 4 Star vacation accommodation is located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia. You’ll have the day free to see Melbourne City’s vast shopping centres, markets and boutiques, maybe do some souvenir shopping. You’ll also find it very easy to get around on the trains and trams, especially within the inners of Melbourne. If you are a fan of wildlife, head over to Phillip Island, home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. Enjoy getting close to koalas and kangaroos before joining the little penguins at dusk, as they emerge from the surf and waddle to their burrows.
Next, your vacation takes you to Cairns, the colorful, sophisticated capital of the tropical north. This city is alive with charm. Here, warm northern hospitality and enthusiasm are the order of the day. You’ll take a boat out to the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll emerge into a vibrant underwater world to explore the world’s most extensive coral reef. While in the tropical north, consider booking a tour to see the oldest rain forest in the world, Daintree Rainforest.
The last leg of your vacation takes you to the iconic city of Sydney. Sydney is Australia’s oldest city and the economic powerhouse of the nation and the country’s capital in everything but name. Enjoy the sights of Sydney, a world class city blessed with sun-drenched natural attractions, dizzy skyscrapers, delicious and daring restaurants, superb shopping and friendly folk. You can choose to experience the beauty of the Harbour, the Opera House and marvel at the expansive Sydney Harbour Bridge.
